We have 5 spec home plans being started in Phase 9 and Phase 10 within the next couple of weeks! All are at the very beginning stages of development so there's still time to pick out the finishings!!
We would like to thank the homeowners in Rose Valley who have had to put up with the inconvenience of foundation pouring on a couple of the lots in Phase 9! With a few homes being the last ones to be done in a phase we sometimes need to 'sneek' around the back to get foundations in. We appreciate the understanding and patience as we complete this phase!!

The construction of Mar Jok Elementary school has presented an opportunity to have a Neighbourhood Learning Centre program. This is defined as 'an inviting place where people of all ages can access education, community services, recreation and culture, seven days a week, twelve months a year. Learning centres promote wellbeing in children, families and the entire community'.
What an exciting opportunity to have a Learning Centre in the Rose Valley Community!!

Ground has been broken for the Rosewood Sports Field...to be located in Rose Valley at Rosewood Drive and McDougall Road. The Central Okanagan School District and the District of West Kelowna have been working together to plan the development of this site, which will include the future Mar Jok Elementary School. The school district and the municipality are expected to sign a joint use agreement that will allow student use of the sports field for physical education in exchange for community access to the school for social, recreational and cultural programming.
Westside-Kelowna MLA Ben Stewart said "Rosewood Sports Field will become a central gathering place and a hub of activity for children and families living in more than 2,000 homes in the Rose Valley and West Kelowna Estates communities. Residents will be able to walk and bike to soccer games, football practices and other recreational activities taking place just down the street."
Rosewood Sports Field will be the first full sized soccer facility in the north end of West Kelowna. The facility will provide new opportunities for practices, games and tournaments for 1,100 children in Westside Youth Soccer and men and women who compete in adult soccer leagues. The field will also create more practice time for young athletes enrolled in Westside Minor Football.

Well it's that time of year again...time to be 'Bear Aware'...this doesn't only mean for bears though. Rose Valley is a community filled with wildlife. Please be aware of this and take the proper precautions in your neighbourhood. Make sure that your garbage cans are either in your garage or have the lids securely strapped down.

Did you know that you can get a $75 rebate from BC Hydro when you purchase an energy star washing machine? This info has been around since 2011 but not too many people know about it. There's a form to fill out (available on the FortisBC website) that needs to be mailed to BC Hydro along with a copy of your receipt...then they send you a cheque for $75!! Pretty cool!!

So you may be wondering what the signs are up for in the Rose Valley area. Well...they're up for Re-Zoning to CD2-D (which is a hillside cluster development)...in other words, it's to be able to re-zone for another phase which will be townhomes, going in above Rosealee Lane. There is some confusion with the sign that has been posted at the corner of Rosewood Dr & Rosealee Lane. We were told by the District that we had to put a sign there because we are designating that green space as part of a proposed park area. There are NO townhouses going up at that location! Did you know.....Fred Parent is retiring!!!! It's true!! He will be done this friday and leaving on his first retirement trip on tuesday! Nadean is taking over the responsibilities that Fred had and I'm dealing with most of the things that Nadean did. An exciting time within the Pentar 'family'!

Happy New Year Everyone!!! What a way to start the year...all this snow! 2 snowfall warnings in 2 days...incredible. We seem to be getting all of our winter weather now! Very awesome if you're a skier!
Please be aware that we are starting to get the annual price increases from our suppliers now...this means that the prices of homes being quoted will increase accordingly. This is something that is totally out of our control and wish it didn't have to happen...but is ever thus. I think the old saying should be...'there are 3 things in life that we can't avoid...death, taxes, and price increases'...because they seem to happen every year.

The weather's holding out nicely for construction! Would be nice to see some snow for Christmas but on the other hand this is awesome for our workers out there building those homes.
Phase 10 is well under way!!! We've had lots of interest in this phase with the potential of a few sales already!! Very exciting news! The plans for our new Showhome are coming along very nicely...with construction to start early in the new year.

We're still waiting on one last thing from the district before we can release the info for Phase 10. This is the hardest part!!! The waiting. We have everything ready to go and are super excited about the anticipation and the new Showhome...fingers crossed that we'll be good to go in the next week or two!

Snow, snow, snow!!!!! Wow, did we ever see alot of snow at the beginning of the week! It certainly hasn't slowed things down construction wise though...we're still going strong with a new Spec house being built (still plenty of time to get in on the design and colors for this one), 2 custom homes being built and the plans for Phase 10 almost ready to go. The new Showhome in Phase 10 will hold some exciting surprises with new and upcoming designs/features to present! It's definately going to be something to see!! It should be ready by May or June 2013.
There are still a few lots available in Phase 9 with amazing views. Come up to the Showhome and get some information on lots and homes from Steve, Saturday-Wednesday from noon - 4pm.

Well, our showhome has sold!!! Before we even had a chance to advertise on the website that it was for sale, it was scooped up! So, we're planning for our next showhome to be built in Phase 10. The Showhome will still be open at it's current location until April 2013 so please stop by to see Steve for any info you need or questions you have on our homes/lots for sale.
We're very very close to releasing all of the info we've put together for Phase 10, just waiting for one more thing to come thru and then we can get it all out there!!! Exciting!!! We're pumped for this new Phase to kick off and a new neighbourhood in Rose Valley to be created. Come on up and take a look!!

The rain seems relentless right now but construction hasn't slowed down by any means! We sold one of the 3 homes left in Phase 8 (Roseview Place)...2 left at amazing prices for the quality of the homes and the views!! Check them out on the Rose Valley Homes and Lots for Sale page. There are 4 homes currently being built in Phase 9 with one being a Spec home...plenty of time to purchase this one and still have some input on the details and design.
Phase 10 will be ready for deposits by early November...nice lots with amazing views! Road construction is complete and the lots are now staked out, so drive up and take a look.

Looks like fall has arrived in full force! Time to pull out the heavy sweaters. We've had some exciting things happen in the last week with potential sales for a couple of our homes...I'll keep you posted on which ones once the sales are finalized! We still have a few homes in Phase 8 (Roseview Place) for sale, and a few lots left in Phase 9. Phase 10 is coming along very well with the roads now complete and plans being made for a new showhome up there! Very exciting!!
As you may have noticed there were a few glitches with our website last week and a few of the news blogs were lost...but all is back on track with only last weeks news lost in the cyber world somewhere!
